This post is a part of my Request a Blog Post section. This request came from our Instagram account and the request was on choosing the great rug
So here is what I recommend:
Before you decide to purchase a new rug for you space you need to look around and see what colour scheme you already have in your excising space. When styling your place the colour selection or the colours that already do exist are very important. Now having the awareness of the colour scheme you can either purchase a rug that will match all of these colours, 50% of the colours or maybe you want a rug that will complement only one colour in that room. Or maybe you want to do something different and make your new rug a feature of the room so selecting a colour that is completely different to your current colour scheme that would work really well if the space is pretty plane and neutral or has limited amount of colours (but then still try to balance it out by adding cushions of the same colour as the rug or any other accessories of your choice). Also when choosing a colour ask yourself; Do you want your carpet to brighten up a dark room or tone down a too-light space? So spend sometime analyzing what you already have! If you still don't know what colour to choose, then choose neutral!

Style Sunday - French Country
From now on each Sunday will be dedicated to a different style of interior design and decor. I think it is a great idea in terms of educational purposes and also to help some of you to decide on a style of your dream home. There are so many ways you can renovate the space and decorate it but today I am going to choose French Country! No particular reason...it was the first style that came to mind :)) But I am sure there are quite a few French country chic lovers who truly admire the old French classics, pastel warm colours, wood, romantic mood and maybe some vintage pieces.
Interiors done in French country style always compliment the house. They look beautiful, relaxed, luxury, charming, elegant, and rustic. Some time ago this style was one of the most popular styles in the world and still is very popular. French country's color palette includes the greens, yellows, golds and reds of a garden. Fabric patterns generally feature white or beige backgrounds decorated by repeating images, like a motif of two people sitting under a tree or a country church.

Wallpaper on the Ceiling
Wallpaper your ceilings? Why not I say! I absolutely adore how it can diversify your space and add some funk or glamour to it...not to mention the bravery! Not everyone would consider this option as we are more used to the plain white ceilings and I guess it can be a risky decision sometimes too. As long as you know how to apply the wallpaper without it falling on to your head one day and you do have a great concept in mind (and perhaps consulted a professional about it) then your risk will turn in to a great success and your guests will be more than impressed.
Wallpapers are still in and you can use it as an accent for a single wall, a bathroom, a hallway. You can have it the same style as your walls or go for a completely different look, it is all about your imagination. But whatever you do remember that any wallpaper is a commitment.
Check out some awesome inspirations and let me know if wallpapers on the ceilings is a yay or nay for you! Definitely a yay for me! ;)

Leo Villareal's Light Works
I saw this quite recently although Leo's gorgeous and largest art work over San Francisco-Oakland's bridge was all over the news in march this year.
Leo's works are permanently featured in at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York. So who is Leo Villareal? Leo born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a pioneer in the use of LEDs and computer-driven imagery and known both for his light sculptures and architectural, site-specific works. ” In 1997, he programmed a 16-light strobe structure that he brought to Burning Man.

I'm a Barbie Girl in a Barbie World.....
I am not a fan of fuchsia...or barbie pink...or even baby pink...But it is a fun concept and definitely an interesting way of travelling and staying at a real life Barbie hotel.
These rooms take place at four hotels in four different locations around the world. Since then they've been commissioned, at least for short periods of time, by hotels around the world to, ostensibly, draw in parents of Barbie-loving kids or, perhaps, adult fans.

Miranda Kerr's NYC Apartment
I mentioned Miranda Kerr in my Healthy Living Blog recently and that gave me a reason to check out what her former Manhattan apartment looked like. This gorgeous place is now sold but I must point out how gorgeous and feminine it looked. The furniture is a mix of Chic French and Boho styles.

Indian and Moroccan Chic
And now back to my favourite topic - Indian chic and Moroccan elements!
If you haven't heard of these glamorous people before they are Liza Bruce and her husband Nicholas Alvis Vega. Liza is famous swimwear designer and Nicholas is an artist. This gorgeous couple have an amazing eye for detail and an impeccable style. Liza and Nicholas own two stunning houses; one in India and one in Morocco. Both houses share a traditional Moroccan decor and design elements and the vibrant colour selection is bold and uplifting you can feel the Indian presence in every room. I'd be wearing kaftans at a home like this every day and burning sandalwood essences sipping Chai in the evenings.
